Role of Project Controller
The project controller is a key member of the project team. Works directly with the project manager to;
- Create and maintain a project's budget and schedule
- Project monitoring and data collection
- Analyse progress reported against the work schedules
- Analyse cost variations
- Conduct project audits
- Manage project schedules
- Oversee regulatory compliance
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting
- Recommend actions to improve progress.
- Serve as liaisons between management and clients
- Serve as liaisons between the finance department and the project managers
- Make or approve project expenditures
- Perform financial research
- Manage project's general ledger
- Monitor project's cash flow
Preferred qualifications to become a Project Controller
- Graduate level training in project management or finance
- MBA
- Qualified accountants
- Chartered Institute Of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA)
- Certified Cost Professional (CCP)
- Earned Value Professional (EVP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
